The brief
After 10 years in operation, Xtreme Action Park needed an update to much of its original signage. The business was already running smoothly and profitably, so this wasn't about a dramatic overhaul, it was about bringing the space's decor and wayfinding into a more contemporary, informative place without disrupting what was already working.
Additionally, new spaces were being developed in the facility, necessitating new graphics that would integrate smoothly into the overall brand.
The process
I approached the update with a light touch, focusing on quality of life and aesthetic improvements rather than a full rebrand. That meant designing environmental graphics that accounted for the park's irregular display areas and acoustics, including incorporating soundproof tiles so the new signage addressed sound as well as visual clarity. The direction leaned into an energy that would resonate with the park's youthful audience, while keeping the improvements grounded and practical rather than sweeping.
The solution
The refreshed signage reinvigorated the look of the space and gave guests clearer, more intuitive wayfinding throughout the park, all while preserving the identity and atmosphere that had made the business successful for a decade.
